The Nevada Supreme Court established its Indigent Defense Commission in April 2007 to address the delivery of indigent defense services in Nevada. Under its authority to regulate all legal practice in the state, the Court subsequently issued a series of Orders in the case referred to as ADKT 411. This is the first of those Orders, addressing among other things: standards for determining indigency; exclusion of trial judges from appointment of counsel; performance standards; and collection of uniform statistics on indigent defense cases throughout the state.
